The Snappening and the SnapChat hack

First of all, be aware of malicious links which are being shared via “TheSnappening” scams. Scammers are using “The Snappening” situation to earn some serious money. The news companies are reporting on “The Snappening”, and the @thesnappening Twitter account claims that a lot of them are sharing false information.

Currently, the only “reliable” source for “The Snappening” will be the @thesnappening Twitter account. The account was created 13 hours ago and the first tweet was very clear.

In the “The Snappening” tweet above, you will see that the @thesnappening Twitter account posted that it will be posting updates via the @thesnappening account.

The person(s) behind the Twitter account, informed their followers that the thread on 4chan was taken offline.

The Twitter account continues to explain that a website is currently being developed for “The Snappening” leaked pictures.

Another Twitter user asked if it will be possible to navigate through The Snappening website, and the @thesnappening account replied that it is possible to navigate the website via the search module.

The @thesnappening twitter account continues to tweet that it will build “The Snappening” galleries and that it might publish a complete *.zip file, which contains the 200 000 SnapChat pictures. 

The Twitter account also claims that it is not affiliated with ViralPop.
