First of all, be aware of malicious links which are being shared via “TheSnappening” scams. Scammers are using “The Snappening” situation to earn some serious money. The news companies are reporting on “The Snappening”, and the @thesnappening Twitter account claims that a lot of them are sharing false information.
Currently, the only “reliable” source for “The Snappening” will be the @thesnappening Twitter account. The account was created 13 hours ago and the first tweet was very clear.

The Twitter account continues to explain that a website is currently being developed for “The Snappening” leaked pictures.
Another Twitter user asked if it will be possible to navigate through The Snappening website, and the @thesnappening account replied that it is possible to navigate the website via the search module.

The @thesnappening twitter account continues to tweet that it will build “The Snappening” galleries and that it might publish a complete *.zip file, which contains the 200 000 SnapChat pictures.
The Twitter account also claims that it is not affiliated with ViralPop.

Darn, the amount of traffic which is currently generated by “The Snappening” discussion and leak has resulted in a “unwanted” DDoS attack on the “snappening.com” company website.
The company provides services which allow you to plan future events and so on.
But now it looks like that the chosen name “The Snappening” has resulted in a direct DDoS attack on the official company website.
The Snappening is the followup on The Fappening hack. This time the hackers have leaked a massive database of 13GB to the internet. The database has been stolen from a third-party Snapchat client application. The vulnerable environment of the third-party allowed hackers to obtain thousands of pictures from Snapchat users.
Snapchat is mainly being used by teenagers to exchange explicit pictures. Some might say that they use it to share their “normal” pictures, but 99% of the Snapchat pictures which are being shared can be classified as eplicit.
4Chan: The Snappening
4Chan members have named the Snapchat leak. The name of the new Snapchat leak is titled “The Snappening”. Earlier this year, hackers were able to download and publish hidden and private pictures from the iCloud database.

If you want to download The Snappening pictures, you will need to have 13GB of free storage on your computer. You will also need an antivirus scanner to scan The Snappening pictures for malware, as the source is very unreliable. The 13GB folder will contain 200 000 leaked Snapchat pictures.
