Ransomware: You better pay, or everything will be published online

Cybercriminals are using new methods to force unaware internet users into paying the ransom which is demanded after an Ransomware Infection (CryptoLocker, Chimera Ransomware).

The latest method which they are using is the method which claims that:

Personal information will be published online once the payment has not been fullfilled within time.

Ransomware and cryptolockers lock all the files on the device which has been infected. The victim which operates the infected device needs to pay ransom in order to retrieve the files which have been locked. If the payment is not fulfilled, the files could be deleted in some cases, but in the case with the Chimera malware, the files will also be uploaded online, making it possible for anyone to download the leaked files.
