Information from the Dutch intelligence service AIVD has come into the hands of criminals after a large data robbery at the Curaçao Security VDC. Leaked documents show how the former Prime Minister Gerrit Schotte from Curaçao has been involved in the alleged corruption of the Curaçao Security Service.
The Security Service tasked the screening of government personal, but from the leaked records it seems that Schotte and his team did everything to thwart such screening.
Plasterk thinks that not the Netherlands but Curaçao itself is responsible for the affairs of the Curaçao Security Service, he responds to questions from Van Raak. “I cannot confirm that information from the AIVD is stolen, copied, or deleted. I cannot comment publicly about how the AIVD and collaborate VDC. The country Curacao has its own supervisory committee for the security service. It is up to the government and parliament of the island to monitor the state of affairs.
