European Parliament website under DDOS attack by Killnet

CYBERWARZONE – The pro-Russian hacking team Killnet has taken responsibility for the DDOS attack on the European Parliament website.

Just hours after the European Parliament declared that Russia is an state-sponsor of terrorism the website was flooded with DDOS request. This resulted in the website of the European Parliament to go offline.

Although the attack did take the website of the European Parlement offline, the attack itself continues to be without direct impact or harm. It can be seen more as an political motivated attack which we have seen in the past with similar hacking teams. The impact of Killnet on infrastructure and availability of services still seems unclear.

Yes, from time to time, they make it to the news, but in terms of high level impact, I am not convinced.
