The Dutch city Lochem has been hit by a Crypto Locker ransomware.
The Crypto locker ransomware has been identified in the computer network of Lochem and precautions have been taken by the system and network administrators to delete the malicious code from the government computer network.
The incident has been reported to the Dutch police and the Service for municipalities (an initiative of the Association of Dutch Municipalities and the Quality of Dutch Municipalities). The cybercriminals found a way to sneak the malicious package through the spam-filters of the Lochem network. The malicious package was send via an e-mail.
