The United States army has ended the contract of an US Army IT administrator after they found out that the IT administrator used private USB sticks to transfer secured data to external environments, but it was not only the USB sticks which were a reason for the US Army to end the contract of the IT administrator – the US Army found out that the IT administrator was an former Chinese soldier which emigrated to the United States in 2006.
When you apply for the US Army, the US army asks you if you have served in any army – the Chinese IT Administrator denied to have worked in the Chinese Army.
The IT administrator had stolen e-mail, documents and various other files by using the USB sticks as data carriers. He also tried to clear his trail by deleting the log files which record each action that is taken place on the computer.
He has been sentenced to 6 months of house arrest and he has to pay a fine of 8000 dollar.
