Using ChatGPT-4 for Cybersecurity

As technology continues to advance, cyber threats have become increasingly sophisticated, making it harder for traditional security measures to keep up. Phishing is one of the most common tactics used by cybercriminals to gain access to sensitive information, and it’s critical that individuals and organizations remain vigilant in detecting these threats.

Recently, I had the opportunity to test ChatGPT-4, a large language model trained by OpenAI, to detect phishing links. The results were astounding! Out of the five links I tested, ChatGPT-4 correctly identified four bad ones and one legitimate one.

Phishing attacks often come in the form of emails or social media messages that include links that, when clicked, lead to fake login pages or malicious websites that can steal personal and financial information. In my test, I used links that were designed to look like legitimate Twitter links, but with slight variations that could easily go unnoticed by an untrained eye.

ChatGPT-4 was able to detect these variations and correctly identify the bad links as malicious. This is a testament to the power of machine learning and the potential it holds for improving cybersecurity.

It’s worth noting that ChatGPT-4 can also be trained to detect malicious code, such as malware, ransomware, and other types of cyber threats. If given access to source code, ChatGPT-4 would be able to analyze it and determine whether it’s malicious or not.

The implications of this are significant. By using machine learning to identify and stop cyber threats before they can do any damage, we can reduce the risk of data breaches, financial loss, and other cyber crimes.

So how can ChatGPT-4 be used in cybersecurity? The possibilities are endless. It can be used to detect phishing emails, fake websites, and other types of social engineering attacks. It can also be used to analyze network traffic and detect anomalies that may indicate a cyber attack is in progress.

In conclusion, ChatGPT-4 is a powerful tool that can help improve cybersecurity by detecting and stopping cyber threats before they can do any damage. If you haven’t already, I urge you to try it out and see for yourself how it can benefit your organization.
