The Canadian customs has stated that they fear an attack on the biometric database could have a massive impact on the national security.
The Toronto Star claims that they were able to get hold on classified documents from the Canadian Customs – and in those documents it was stated that they feared an attack on the biometric database.
If malicious users would gain access to the biometric database – they would be able to alter the information which is used by customs to allow or deny specific people from entering.
The Canadian customs has been collecting biometric information from people that enter the country with a temporary visa. Yearly 355 thousand people leave their information in the biometric database.
