Beware of the Facebook $200 000 scam

The Facebook $200 000 scam is a typical scam which tries to lure unaware Facebook users by claiming that they have won a significant amount of money. The scams are setup in such an way that they will try to collect personal information from the targeted victims.

The scams are often operated by real persons which pay a lot of attention on how to steal financial or personal information from their victims.

In the Facebook $200 000 scam the victims were contacted by Facebook profiles which claimed that the victim Facebook profile had won a prize during the Facebook Lottery Promotion.

One victim of the Facebook $200 000 scam said the following:

I got messaged by a person claiming to be someone I know, its a duplicate page. They claim they saw my name on a list of people to recive $200,000 from facebook ( a nice dream as thats my morgage paid). They said I had to text a number or send an email to an oddly yahoo.com based email to say I’m ready to claim it.

The Facebook $200 000 scam can be identified by the following texts:

We are happy to inform you that our program is back again this year, this promo is for people to fight off poverty and make them to live on their own .

We are happy to inform you that your name appear on the facebook lottery promotion for the month and we are giving out the total sum of $200,000 USD ( Two hundred Thousand United States Dollars ) to our winners,which is the sum you have won.

Your name was selected by Mr Mark Zuckerberg the CEO of Facebook ( Founder & Chief Executive Officer ) The promotion was made to make all facebook users benefit from the gain the company made. Facebook is the first and ever largest means of meeting both old and new friend.

The promo is done to serve as a means of appreciation to visitors on our site and also to help people to fight off poverty and to maintain the standard of living.

The emergence of the facebook was for the better use and constructive usage of information with global relationships. This effort makes the world goes around and makes you one of the beneficiaries of the people charity home lottery

If you are ever contacted online by someone which claims that you have won a significant sum, then do not reply to that message. Instead, call your bank and allow them to initiate the contact. If the credentials are real, the bank will make sure that you will receive the signifigcant amount of money which is promised. If the credentials are fake, your bank will inform you about that.

Do not reply, or give the scammers any sign that you are interested or active as the scammers will add you to a list which they will sell to other scammers.
