Basic Computer Troubleshooting Tips

Today, we are going to discuss some common troubleshooting tips with you, when you encounter that type of problem. We all have faced these types of pc problems in our everyday life. Like power button not working or computer program not responding well etc. Let’s solve together these problems.

Q1. I am pressing the power button, but my computer system is not turning on. What to do?

Solution: – First check power cord is firmly plugged in their sockets. Many time it happens if power cord is not firmly plugged in their socket, computer won’t turn on. So first check if your power cord is firmly plugged or not.

If your problem still not solved then unplug the power cord and examine the power cord for breaks or damage. If your power cord is damaged then replace your power cord with a new one. And plug power cord back in and try again to turn on your computer. Now your computer will start smoothly.

If your power cord is not damaged, then check if the socket is damaged or not.

Now if nothing works, then go to a hardware engineer to solve this issue.

Q2. When I am trying to turn on my computer system, my computer system starts but fails before windows load. How to solve this issue?

Solution: – If your Computer system starts, but fails before windows loads then it may be a problem with your hard disk or windows files may be corrupt. First go to your computer systems’ set up program (BIOS) and check if your computer systems’ hard drive is recognized and in the boot sequence.

To access the content of the drive you may boot your computer using a live disk or flash drive.

Note: – To open BIOS, as soon as you turn on your computer system, well before windows loads, press F2 or F2+ Del. These keywords vary from model to model. Now your BIOS setup will open.

Q3. In my computer some programs are running slowly. How to solve this problem?

Solution: – You may be using an older version of that program, Try updating that particular program to a latest version. Then open that program again, your program now runs fast.

To update a program, find Help Menu of the program and there you will find an option to update that program. Just update your program.

If you may not able to find an option to update your program, then try to search the program in Google and download a latest version of that program.

Q4. When I am starting a particular program, sometimes that particular program is frozen or unresponsive? I am not able to choose any button within the application even I am not able to close the program. How to close that particular program?

Solution: – Sometime it happens, sometimes some program become unresponsive or frozen, and then we do not able to close the program or click any button of the program. At that time computer also works slowly. In this case first you have to open Task Manager. To open the task manager press and hold Ctrl+Alt+Delete. Go to application Tab and find that program which becomes unresponsive or frozen. Select that program and click End Task button. That program will close.

You may also try to restart your computer to solve that issue.

Q5. I am not able to see my taskbar? When I am hover my mouse over bottom of my screen it comes back but as soon as I am moving my mouse cursor from that area my Taskbar becomes invisible? How to make my Taskbar visible permanently?

This is a simple feature that Windows Operating System has. Its name is ‘Auto-hide the Taskbar’. You unknowingly check that feature that’s why your Taskbar becomes invisible whenever you move your mouse cursor from bottom of the computer screen.

To solve this issue first move your mouse cursor to the bottom of the screen. Then right click when your mouse cursor is over Taskbar. Go to Properties, the Taskbar. Here you will find an option to ‘Auto-hide the Taskbar’. Make sure you uncheck that option. Now click Apply button and then click Ok button. Your problem solved. Your mouse cursor will permanently visible.
