The yahoo company has been compromised, they report that hackers have gained access to data of over 500 million Yahoo accounts.
The current news states that the hack might be a state-sponsored attack. The Guardian states that the hackers had gained access to the company’s network in late 2014. The leaked data would contain names, passwords, email addresses, phone numbers and security questions.
Yahoo does state that they have no indication that credit card data or bank details might have been stolen.
Yahoo has notified users who may have been affected.
