Mehrabad International Airport has reportedly been struck during the ongoing conflict involving Iran, marking one of the most significant attacks inside Tehran since the war began. The strike occurred as fighting between Iran and opposing forces—widely reported to include coordinated operations by the United States and Israel—continued to intensify across the region.
Strike on Mehrabad Airport
Witnesses in Tehran reported hearing several loud explosions near the airport complex, followed by large plumes of smoke rising above the western side of the city where the airport is located. Images circulating on social media and Iranian outlets appeared to show smoke coming from areas near the runway and military sections of the airport.
According to early reports from international media, the strikes were part of a broader wave of attacks targeting Iranian military infrastructure. Some reports suggested that air defense systems and radar installations around the airport may have been among the targets.
