Mobile data services, messaging platforms, and most websites remain inaccessible for the majority of the population. In many areas, even basic communication tools have stopped functioning.
Authorities have stated that the internet will no longer be freely accessible, signaling that the blackout is not temporary. Reports indicate the restrictions could remain in place for weeks, possibly extending into the Iranian New Year period. Satellite television inside the country is also limited, with households reportedly only able to receive international channels.
The blackout has made it extremely difficult to verify events unfolding inside Iran, including protests, security operations, and casualty figures. Independent reporting has been largely silenced, while families struggle to contact relatives amid the ongoing unrest.
