Iran launches HPC center

A High Performance Computing center was launched in Iran.

The Associate Dean of Kashan University in central Iran, Hossein Ebrahimpour said some measures were taken for designing and building the center three years ago and all efforts were made in this regard.

He added a HPC cluster system with minimum 8 working computer systems each with one Intel Processor, 8 GB memory card and 1 TB hard disc has been launched and can be used through all computers in the university.

Ebrahimpour noted using graphic computing processors in the form of CUDA programming or the environments using it such as Abaqus, Ansys, Fluent, Mathematica and Matlab is possible.
