Lost your pet? Beware of Bitcoin scammers

A new trend is starting amongst scammers and cybercriminals.

They are hunting down people that have lost their pets, and once they have found their target, they will send a message to the pet owner, that Bitcoin needs to be paid in order to get their pet back.

The text being:

I have your dog. Send $600 in Bitcoin to the Bitcoin address below.

Bitcoin Address:

1FduWUR9HZpKwbWyJnyCMX

You have 5 days. I will sell it or kill it or whatever if not received by then. When you pay I will leave it at a pet store with your contact info.
This number is a $20 throwaway phone. I will destroy it just after this message.
Do not bother, the police cannot help. You only have one shot at this. I will not contact you again.

If you have been contacted by a similar scammer/criminal, then make sure to contact the police. They will be able to help you forward.
