It are these types of messages which fuels the hope inside of me.
The 25 year old Muhanned was forced to leave his town Homs in Syria because of all the conflicts which are taking place.
He fled towards Germany, and he was appointed a home in the German city Minden.
Like every healthy person, he decided that he needs furniture in his home, he used the money which he got funded by the Germany government to buy second hand furniture. One of the pieces he bought, was a clothes closet.
The clothes closet was dirty, and he decided to clean it very carefully. While he was cleaning the closet, he found out that there was a hidden container in the closet.
He opened the hidden container, and he found 150000 euro. 50 thousand euro was cash, and the other 100000 were obligations which he could retrieve from the bank directly.
Instead of keeping the money for himself, he decided to bring the money to the police. He claimed that he is a Muslim, and that it is haram for him to keep the money.
The German police stated that Muhanned has the right to get 3% of the found amount. He received 4500 euro’s from the German police, and that money he is going to use to pay back his refugee costs.
