The performance of Mobile Phones Operators is controlled directly
ICT ministry has a direct control on Mobile Phones Operators’ Performance and has their services’ quality under high supervision and we don’t rely only on their reports.
Dr. Reza Taghipour, the minister of Communications and Information Technology in an interview with news unit of ICT ministry’s Public Relations stated that: changes in ICT zone have caused great changes in human being’s style of life and if ICT only meant telephone, post and call in this past, now it has combined with network systems and influenced on other zones like economy, society and culture.
In IT, we have reached the pinnacle which is expressible and reaching Knowledge based Economy is our main expectation.
He with pointing the matter of Telecommuting and existence of virtual organizations said that: now we are living in the era in which some of the people live in a country but do their business in another country via virtual organizations that the services increase day by day.
Dr. Taghipour emphasized on the progresses have been made in ICT since Islamic Impressive Revolution and future challenges we face in telephones and mobile phones and declared that: today we have about 15 million telephone clients which means saturation and the act conceding is updated.
He continued that: until the year 2004, we had about 6.8 million mobile phone user, but now the number of the users are about 56 millions with the efforts of the 9th Government.
We are supervising the performance of Mobile Operators precisely and our access to them is online and communications’ interrupts and disconnections are registered and recorded accurately. Of course the users can give their opinions about the network and the services provided by operators and also suggestions through the website of Radio Communications and Rules Regulatory Organization; Dr. Taghipour said.
The minister of ICT also about the National Data Network asserted that this network accomplishes up to 70% of people’s needs via internet which is indeed safer and has more speed.
In the matter of E-government he said that: The National Data Network can resolve our problems in different zones like E-trading, E-health and E-learning.
