Pink Energizer bunny 'way to world domination' has been stopped by hackers

The Energizer bunny, a USB-powered battery charger available on several online stores has been infected with malware. The trojan Arucer.dll was found yesterday in the driver software. 

The Energizer DUO charger driver software contained the trojan. It listens for commands on port 7777 and once activated, it could download and execute files as well as send information to a remote host. Since it is a .dll file Mac/Linux users were unaffected. 

Password Application gives wrong info to hackers

The Fraunhofer Institute for Secure Information Technology in Germany is selling a mobile phone application that offers a secure feature over password-storage applications.

The application called MobileSitter stores the passwords, PINs and TANs (transaction authentication numbers). Like any other password application the information is encrypted by a master password.

The Lower Merion School District case

In February the family of 15-year-old Blake Robbins filed a lawsuit against Lower Merion School District near Philadelphia, alleging that the school district activated the web-cam in the student's school-issued MacBook. 

Falkland belongs to Argentina!

An unknown hacker has hacked the website of the Falkland Islands main newspaper. Posting reasons why they should belong to Argentina rather then Britain.

The article on the website of the Penguin News was posted in Spanish with a light blue and white background. The colors of the Argentinian flag.
