US National Cyber Security Strategy

Former US president Bush signed the cybersecurity strategy nearly a week after the "Sapphire" Internet worm slowed Web traffic and disrupted bank cash machine services, airline flights and other critical parts of the Internet infrastructure.

A crucial perspective was that offered by the White House’s 2003 “National Strategy to Secure Cyberspace”, which defined cyberspace as the “nervous system the control system of the US composed of hundreds of thousands of interconnected computers, servers, routers, switches, and fiber optic cables that allow our critical infrastructures to work.
